Swiss - Gotthard Base Tunnel (Lot 553 Bodio) - Excavation in loose material
Excavation in loose material for 820m of double tube tunnel in the Bodio section of the Gotthard Base Tunnel. The two tunnels pass through a cone of detritus formed by loose material and blocks. The heterogeneity of the surrounding earth made substantial consolidation works necessary prior to excavation. Mechanical excavation of the arch under the protection of direct tunnel support and fibreglass rock bolts with ribs and shotcrete as support measures after excavation, with subsequent excavation of the bench with jet grouting of the surface in concrete. |
