Italy, Motorway Pedemontana Lombarda
The Pedemontana Lombarda is made up of three lots: Section A of the Pedemontana Lombarda Motorway runs from the intersection with the A8 Milan-Varese motorway, in the municipality of Cassano Magnago, to the intersection with the A9 Milan-Como motorway, in the municipality of Lomazzo. About 15 km in length and with two lanes in each direction, section A consists mainly of cuttings (5.5 km), embankments (5.2 km) and artificial tunnels (3 km); a bridge provides the means to cross the Olona River. Provision is made for four exits: at Busto-Arsizio (interchange with the A8 motorway), at Solbiate Olona, at Mozzate and at Cislago. The 1st Lot of the Varese bypass, about 45 km long, runs from the interchange with the A8 in the municipality of Gazzada Schianno to the Vedano Olona exit, on the border with the municipality of Varese. There are two exits on this section: at Gazzada, for the junction with the A8 motorway and at Vedano Olona, connecting to the existing road. The 1st Lot of the Como bypass extends for a total of about 3 km; it joins the A9 motorway at Grandate, on the border with the municipality of Villaguardia, and ends with the Acquanegra exit, between the municipalities of Como and Casnate con Bernate. |
