The two sections, with a total length of 26.2 km, will be true “Smart Roads”: the use of state-of-the-art sensor technologies and Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) services, integrated through the BIM (Smart InfraBim-GIS) methodology, will ensure high quality and safety standards for the entire life of the infrastructure and offer innovative solutions during construction, as in the future management of the work.<\/p>\n

\u200bDuring the meeting it emerged how the Pedemontana Lombarda is among the largest European highway infrastructures and how strategic it is for Lombardy and the country. Decreased travel time and smoother traffic flow, reduced stops, land consumption and emissions thanks to the “free-flow” system are just some of the benefits the new routes will bring to the area and beyond.<\/p>\n

The opening of the construction sites of the two sections, whose executive design and construction work has been entrusted to the Webuild – Impresa Pizzarotti & C. consortium. S.p.A., is scheduled for early next year.<\/p>\n
