Work progresses on the Piadena-Mantova railway doubling
Work is progressing on the Piadena-Mantova railway track-doubling project, an important infrastructure project entrusted by RFI (Ferrovie dello Stato Group) to the group of companies led by Impresa Pizzarotti, with Saipem, ICM and Salcef, under the supervision of Italferr.
Among the main benefits of the project is the increase in the line’s capacity, which will rise from the current 4 to 10 trains per hour in each direction, improving the efficiency and frequency of the service. At Piadena, sub-foundations have been completed and work continues on the new railway overpass. In Ospitaletto and Castellucchio, the foundations of the new overpasses are being built, with the imminent start of the sub-foundation piles near the SP55 in Castellucchio. In Curtatone, work is progressing on the artificial tunnel and the railway bridge over the Osone canal.
In Mantua, preliminary works are underway for the construction of the road subway. A constantly evolving project for a more modern, efficient and sustainable infrastructure.
