Work in progress Piadena-Mantua railway doubling

Work in progress: all construction sites for the Piadena-Mantua railway doubling are open, and work is proceeding at full speed despite the inclement weather.

The project, commissioned by RFI Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Italian Railway Network) to the consortium of companies Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., Saipem, Gruppo ICM, and Salcef Group, with Italferr S.p.A. responsible for works management and safety coordination (both companies belonging to the FS Group), extends across the lower Lombardy plain between Piadena and Mantua for a length of approximately 34 kilometers. It also involves the removal of all level crossings on the line, with the consequent construction of eight railway bridges, three underpasses, and an artificial tunnel.
