Work continues on the doubling of the Circumvesuviana railway line
Work continues on doubling the Circumvesuviana railway line between Torre Annunziata and Castellammare di Stabia. Among the main activities, the excavation phase of the natural tunnel, over 450 meters long and built in a particularly complex geological context, has been completed. The castings of the final cladding and the internal pavement have also been completed. The works supporting the entrances to the gallery also advance:
- at the North entrance the foundations of the type 1 walls have been completed and the elevation jets are underway;
- at the southern entrance, the foundations of the type 3 wall have been built for approximately 65 metres and the laying of the reinforcement of the elevations is underway.
Hydraulic control and slope safety work is also underway within the Villa Arianna archaeological area, with the completion of the micropile bulkhead curbs and the start of work on the second rolling mill, of which the larger diameter piles have already been completed. The project also includes the delivery of the underground garage and the new Stabia Scavi-Corpo Est Station, an integral part of the area’s new accessibility system.
At the same time, urban redevelopment activities continue in the Via Andolfi underpass area: the reinforced concrete structures have been completed, and paving and final landscaping work is now underway. This advance confirms Impresa Pizzarotti’s commitment to the construction of complex and strategic infrastructure for the area in highly urbanized areas.
