Last week, the Department of Civil Engineering, Building and Environmental of the University of Naples Federico II organized a visit to the construction site of the Parking Multiplane of Pompeii, in collaboration with EAV Ente Autonomo Volturno and the Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A. Students of the courses on Building Technology Design and Geotechnical Fundamentals, led by Prof. Ing. Roberto Castelluccio and Prof. Ing.ssa Marianna Pirone, had the opportunity to explore the design and construction phases of the project.

During the survey, the designer Ing. Nicola Marchetti (GAMMA INGEGNERIA SOC COOP) and the Director of Construction Luigi Barbaro (Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A.) have illustrated to the students the various design and construction phases of the work, going to highlight all the criticalities faced during the works; from the presence of the aquifer to the discovery of archaeological finds of great interest; in this regard, during the survey of the site, also the geologist Giovanni Di Maio, who gave students both information on the evidence found, the characteristics of the land.
