Update on works on the Piadena–Mantua line
A new phase of work on the Piadena–Mantua line has been completed: Bozzolo station has been converted into a terminus. Between Friday 25 and Monday 27 April, during a period of intense operational activity, the RTI team comprising Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., Saipem, Gruppo ICM and Salcef Group, engaged in the Piadena –Mantua double-tracking project, commissioned by RFI Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, with works management and safety coordination entrusted to FS Engineering (a company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Group), have moved back the stopping points on tracks 1 and 2 and created a new dedicated pedestrian route, improving accessibility for passengers.
This was a crucial technical step to enable the start of the next phase of works: resolution of underground utility issues, upgrading of pavements, new shelters, lifts and a station underpass.
The project forms part of the wider infrastructure upgrade scheme for the line.
