The third lane of the A4 highway between Portogruaro and Alvisopoli opened to traffic

The paving of Asfalto Drenante (Draining Asphalt) on the Trieste carriageway was completed for the last part of the almost 300,000 square metres of paving planned in the project.

On 21 September, on the other hand, the asphalt paving works on the Venice direction carriageway were completed. With its 24 works (7 subways, 9 box culverts, 5 overpasses and 3 bridges), the first sub lot of the second is one of the most complex worksites among those included in the A4 third lane project.

Developed over 8 kilometres and 500 metres, in fact, it envisages not only the widening of the motorway seat, but also the demolition and complete reconstruction of all works of art (bridges, subways, overpasses, hydraulic crossings), the installation of soundproofing barriers, and the planting of trees to absorb carbon dioxide from traffic, the positioning of technological infrastructures and portals for vertical signage and variable message panels, as well as the resolution of all interferences with plant networks and the construction of lagoon basins for the collection and treatment of platform water.

It is, therefore, a totally new infrastructure and not a simple adjustment of the width of the carriageways.
