It arrived at the port of Salerno aboard a cargo ship, the first TBM of the Xenia consortium that will be engaged in excavating and constructing the Saginara tunnel of Lot 1A Battipaglia-Romagnano.

The TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine), at 13.46 meters in meter and 130 meters in length, is the first of the four TBMs destined for the construction work on the new HS/HC Salerno-Reggio Calabria-Lot 1A Battipaglia-Romagnano line and interconnection with the historic Battipaglia-Potenza line.
