Technical inspection by Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi at the Pedemontana Lombarda construction site
Yesterday morning, a technical inspection was carried out at the Biassono tunnel construction site, one of the strategic sites of the new Pedemontana Lombarda motorway infrastructure.
The Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Edoardo Rixi, together with representatives of Autostrada Pedemontana Lombarda, the Councilor for Infrastructure and Public Works Claudia Maria Terzi, the CEO of Cal Gianantonio Arnoldi, representatives of Pedelombarda Nuova, Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., Webuild, the engineers responsible for the project, and local authorities, examined the progress of the work and the engineering solutions adopted.
During the visit, three significant points along the route were analyzed: the DT04 Soil Depot, intended for the storage and reuse of excavated soil; the Biassono 2 Tunnel, 630 meters long and built using the “Milano” method; and Trench 09, an open-air section of highway approximately 100 meters long, currently in the final stages of construction.
Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi emphasized the importance of the project for the Lombardy region, stating: “The Pedemontana Lombarda is a strategic infrastructure that connects territories, businesses, and people, strengthening the competitiveness of one of the most dynamic areas in Europe. The completion of the Pedemontana is a concrete investment in economic growth and transport sustainability.”
The Pedemontana Lombarda motorway represents an important step toward improving mobility in the region.
