After the transfer from the port of Augusta to the yard, the assembly of the first of the two TBM has begun that will be engaged in the realization of the four galleries of the lot 4B – draft New Enna – Dittaino of the railroad Palermo-Catania.

The TBM is intended to dig the tunnel called Sicani tunnel of about 5.5 km long and, subsequently, the Dittaino tunnel, about 2km long.

Excavation activities are scheduled to begin in early November.

Meanwhile, the second TBM has already arrived at the port of Augusta.
