On May 2025, Marco Barbarulo, BIM Lead of Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., on the occasion of the seminar “Recovery and management of the built environment: approach to innovative tools in BIM,” bringing the operational and concrete point of view of the construction world within an open discussion between academics, institutions and consultants.

During the meeting, the increasingly central role of Building Information Modeling in the Italian regulatory context was discussed, especially in light of the entry into force of the new Contracts Code, which extends the obligation to adopt BIM methodology also to public contracts below the EU threshold.

The adoption of BIM, in fact, represents not only a regulatory constraint, but a real opportunity to increase efficiency in the management of public and private works, simplifying processes, improving design quality and enhancing the value of resources.
