Risk assessment and major infrastructure projects: the experience of Pizzarotti at the Polytechnic University of Turin
An important discussion on risk assessment in civil engineering took place today at the Energy Center Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Turin.
The event, organised by the Permanent Consultative Committee of the Polytechnic University of Turin, brought together representatives from academia, institutions and businesses, including our colleague Alessandro Zurlo, Deputy Project Manager at Impresa Pizzarotti, who contributed to the debate by sharing the technical experience gained from the construction site of the Underpass and the New High-Speed Railway Station in Florence.
Key points of the presentation:
Managing complexity: the application of risk management models to major infrastructure projects, particularly those in urban contexts.
Field experience: the transition from theoretical assessment to the operational management of the project’s construction.
Educational synergy: the importance of dialogue between major companies and students in training the professionals who will manage tomorrow’s infrastructure.
Our thanks to Prof. Alessandro Fantilli and all the members of the Committee for this fruitful exchang.
