Design and construction of a high-speed railway between Milan and Bologna. Pizzarotti was part of the Cepav 1 Consortium.

The main infrastructure built directly on the line is represented by a 1.63 km artificial concrete tunnel with special iron and glass accesses and 24 km of prefabricated omega (ω)-shaped viaducts in place. with a single span of 37 metres, in addition to the restoration of 200 km of existing roads.
