The project of the plant concerned the construction of a hydroelectric complex at the forefront, which includes several fundamental works. This complex was developed to exploit hydropower as a clean and renewable source of energy production.

The realized project consists of: two concrete dams with gravity of 55m in height each with attached works, a tunnel connecting the two reservoirs, a tunnel of supply in pressure, a hydroelectric plant in cave with two turbines of 75 MW each, an exhaust tunnel and access roads for about 70 km.
