Construction of the Faido shaft for the access to the Gotthard base tunnel. Excavation of a 2760m long passage with an average section of 60m² and an average gradient of 12.7%. Excavation carried out with a traditional system of anchors and shotcrete as the means of support. Final concrete surfacing of the floor and vaulting carried out simultaneously with the excavation.
