Doubling of the Messina–Catania railway line, Giampilieri–Fiumefreddo section, Lot 1 South – Fiumefreddo–Taormina section. The route covers an area of approximately 13.90 km and is mainly double-track underground and includes civil works, armament, electrification, signalling and telecommunications. 

Project awarded, developed and launched by a JV in which Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.a. held a stake together with other industrial partners. On 30 June 2026, Impresa Pizzarotti’s share was transferred to a company within the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group, along with all relevant appurtenances (human resources, equity interests, contractual arrangements, technical and experiential requirements, etc.)
