Pompeii, inauguration of Piazza Bartolo Longo
During the morning of yesterday, February 10, 2025, in the presence of Regional President Vincenzo De Luca, Bishop Monsignor Tommaso Caputo, Mayor Carmine Lo Sapio and EAV President Umberto De Gregorio, the new Bartolo Longo Square, the centerpiece of the city of Pompeii, was inaugurated.
At the event, President De Luca and all institutional officials present had the opportunity to visit another work that is part of the urban compatibility project for the city of Pompeii: the Via Fucci garage, which will be completed by fall.
The inauguration of the square, as well as the parking garage, are just some of the works included in the long list of redevelopment works by the Municipality of Pompeii, which features the two consortium members Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A. and Infrafer.
Specifically, the Bartolo Longo Square project included the redesign of the flower beds to increase the new parvis, with lava stone paving, a level fountain and new lighting for the square and bell tower.
The intervention therefore greatly improved the spaces, eliminating architectural barriers and thus making the square accessible to all, bringing it back to being a symbolic place for the entire city of Pompeii.
Congratulations to everyone!
