Piadena-Mantua works update
With the beginning of the new year, the activities of the Piadena-Mantua railway doubling construction site have resumed at full speed – a project commissioned from the Pizzarotti & C. Business Group. SpA, Saipem, ICM Group and Salcef Group, from RFI Rete Ferroviaria Italiana with the construction management and safety coordination of Italferr SpA (both companies of the FS Group).
In recent days, as part of work at the Bozzolo train station, the old toll booth building, owned by RFI, near the level crossing between Via Cremona and Viale Valzania, was demolished. The freed space will provide access to the northern part of the station, where activities will soon begin that will lead to the elimination of track 3, war cleanup, and support works for the construction of the new track 3.
Work is expected to begin by the end of February in the square in front of the Bozzolo station building, while train stop signs will be moved back to the station by March, allowing work to subsequently begin on part of the station floor.
Also in the municipality of Bozzolo, work has resumed on the road called NV25, which crosses the railway line and the Padana Inferiore state road 10. The installation of the prestressed reinforced concrete beams (which will soon be followed by the construction of the slabs) has been completed, and work is underway on the road embankments and the roundabout that will connect the SP64 to state road 10.
