Partial delivery of work on the 300-seat New Penitentiary Institute in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN)
The partial handover of work for the 300-seat New Penitentiary Institute in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN) was held in recent days. The project involves the renovation of an existing building (management), the demolition of the other present buildings and the construction of six new buildings (Detention Pavilion, Officer Barracks, Block House, Colloquial/Matriculation – Recreational Activities – Processing, Technological Central and Electrical Cabin) to be built on the area of the former “F.lli Dall’Armi” military barracks, which has been disused for more than 20 years.
The gates physically opened to host an official inspection attended by technicians from Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., the Mayor of San Vito al Tagliamento, municipal technical officials, Local Police, Carabinieri Representatives and officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
A very important step in the journey to reduce prison overcrowding, helping to improve prison conditions means not only promoting respect for human rights, but also fostering social reintegration and collective security. It will also benefit Pordenone, which will be able to have the Castle (home of the current prison house) available again for new social, cultural and tourism functions.
