Official visit to the Brescia–Verona HS rail construction site

In recent days, the construction site for the Brescia Est–Verona high-speed and high-capacity rail line welcomed a visit from Stefano Donnarumma, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the FS Italiane Group, to mark the test runs along the entire route, which began in recent weeks and represent a crucial step towards the technical acceptance testing and the entry into service of the project, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The visit was also attended by Paolo Pizzarotti, Chairman of Impresa Pizzarotti, and Francesco Aguglia, General Manager of Domestic Operations, alongside representatives from the companies involved in the project’s construction.

With overall progress exceeding 90 per cent, the Brescia Est–Verona line represents a key component of the Milan–Venice high-speed rail link and the TEN-T Mediterranean Corridor. This infrastructure will help to increase the capacity of the national rail network, improving the efficiency of passenger and freight services and strengthening the links between the main European corridors.

This achievement has been made possible by the daily commitment of thousands of people and the collaboration between all the partners involved, who are working to deliver a project to the country that is set to generate value for local areas, businesses and citizens.
