Norway, UNB01 RAILWAY Nykirke-Barkåker

In the past few days more than 120 technicians from the Customer BaneNOR, coming from all over the country and representing the different technical areas, visited our construction site in Norway.

The visit has had in particular as object: the tunnel Skottas (natural tunnel in rock length 2,2 km) completed during last year and the station of Horten, where the architectural finishes are still being executed.

With great pride we share the Customer’s appreciation for the state of the work and for the preparation of the construction site: “Hi all, BaneNOR’s site visit on Thursday went very well, with no unwanted incidents. The area appeared tidy and safe, very good, continue that. Thank you for good cooperation”

The project as a whole involves the upgrading of the 13.6 km dual-track railway line between the cities of Nykirke and Barkaker south of the capital of Oslo, This project is part of the wider Norwegian national transport programme, which has as its priority the construction of a continuous dual-track railway line between Oslo and Tõnsberg by 2024.

The upgrading of the section between Nykirke and Barkaker, one of the two remaining single-track sections, which will allow a modern, rapid and environmentally friendly transport service between cities in eastern Norway, is crucial to achieving this goal.
