Naples–Bari High-Speed Line: Transport in Southern Italy takes another step forward

30 June marked a milestone for the country’s rail infrastructure. As part of the Cancello Frasso Telesino contract, the two stations – Valle di Maddaloni and Dugenta-Frasso Telesino – have been completed and handed over to the client for opening to the public.

The new ‘Valle di Maddaloni’ station, which replaces the existing station on the historic line, is situated on an embankment along the new route, south of the town, just after the exit of the new tunnel. The station has been fitted out with all the necessary facilities to accommodate passengers and includes a car park for cars and buses.

Two symmetrical, opposing shelters – which serve as the distinguishing feature of the two stops on the Cancello–Frasso section – allow passengers to wait for the train on the platform sheltered from the elements and protect the vertical access points to the underpass. At the same time, on the square side, the same canopy, in the form of a portico, shelters the entrance and exit to the passenger stop.

Our thanks go to the entire CFT Consortium team, who have worked tirelessly to deliver a safe, reliable and sustainable infrastructure.
