Assembly operations have been completed on the fourth of the five TBMs that will be used for the construction of the Giampilieri-Fiumefreddo section railway doubling: the Scaletta TBM.

The TBM, characterized by an excavation diameter of 9.16 meters and a length of 140 meters, will excavate the Scaletta and Quali tunnels for a total length of 6,950m x 2.
