Work has begun on installing the 65-metre metal deck using the “push launch” technique on the Calore Viaduct, a highly complex engineering project and another important milestone on the Frasso Telesino – Telese section, a key stage in the completion of the Naples – Bari high-speed/high-capacity line.

The double-track deck is made of four double-T metal beams placed side by side. The total length of the beams is 64.30 metres. The width of the deck is 13.70 metres, which is necessary to accommodate the noise barriers.

The metal beams have a total height of 4.15 m and are stiffened by crossbars made of coupled angles. In addition, upper and lower longitudinal bracing is provided along the entire length to increase overall rigidity during operation and during the assembly phases.
