International Energy Saving Day: Pizzarotti Company for Carbon Neutrality

“The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a common interest; it is the only thing we all share”.

Decarbonization must be a goal for everyone and Pizzarotti’s commitment is there and it is concrete.

One of the greatest dangers for the environment is CO2 emissions. Climate change has been universally identified as one of the greatest challenges facing nations, governments, economic systems and citizens in the coming decades: it has significant implications for both natural and human systems, and can lead to a significant impact on resource use, production processes and economic activities.

EU leaders agreed in October 2014 on a 2030 energy and climate policy framework for the EU by approving a binding target of at least a 40% domestic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, compared to 1990 levels. In November 2018, the European Commission adopted a long-term strategic vision for a climate-neutral economy by 2050.

But more has been done over the years. The EU target has in fact decided to move from 40% emission reduction to the current 55% by 2030, a goal that is a must for the protection of the earth. Our commitment to climate change mitigation is to reduce CO2 emissions in the medium to long term for the Group’s activities, in order to move closer to carbon neutrality for direct and indirect emissions and to find ways to offset direct emissions. There is still a lot to do, but each of us with small daily gestures, can contribute in an important way to environmental respect and the safeguarding of the entire planet. Stay Green!
