Impresa Pizzarotti participated in the seminar “Concrete for a more sustainable construction: regulatory evolution and new materials,” organized by the Bologna Order of Engineers as a scientific dissemination event for the CASA – Ecoconcrete project. The initiative represented an important opportunity for research and business to discuss sustainability and materials innovation in the construction sector, offering Impresa Pizzarotti the opportunity to share its perspective and application experience.

During the event, Denise Po, Innovation Manager at Impresa Pizzarotti, spoke. She outlined the company’s approach to sustainable transition, highlighting how materials management currently represents a strategic industrial lever, capable of impacting competitiveness, the quality of its work, and the resilience of the supply chain.

During the intervention, a fundamental principle was underlined that guides the company’s commitment to innovation:

“In building the future, it’s not enough to simply choose more sustainable materials: we need to bring them out of the laboratory and onto construction sites, transforming innovation into concrete, safe, and scalable solutions thanks to collaboration between businesses, research, universities, and the local community.”

The intervention also explored the role of materials innovation, traceability, independent certifications, and the circular economy, highlighting how sustainability requires a concrete approach, capable of combining research, industrial application, and collaboration between companies, universities, and institutions. In this context, Impresa Pizzarotti’s experience with the CASA – Ecoconcrete project was also presented, aimed at developing circular and sustainable concrete solutions, with the aim of promoting the recovery and reuse of resources within the construction chain. Participation in moments of discussion like this confirms Impresa Pizzarotti’s commitment to promoting innovation as a tool to accompany the transition to increasingly sustainable construction, helping to transform research findings into concrete applications for the sector.
