As part of the Green Economy Festival 2026, one of Italy’s leading events dedicated to sustainability and the ecological transition, Impresa Pizzarotti took part in the panel discussion “The challenge of materials for the architecture of the future”, with a presentation by its CEO, Riccardo Garrè.
The central focus of the session was a practical examination of one of the most pressing challenges facing our sector: the future of building materials and construction processes.

Today, construction and demolition waste accounts for over half of the special waste produced in Italy, making materials management a strategic lever for sustainability. For Impresa Pizzarotti, these issues represent a concrete industrial challenge: managing the supply chain, ensuring traceability, investing in certifications and promoting circularity are key elements in tackling a market where these requirements are now essential.

This context also encompasses the 3D construction printing project, which we are developing through the construction of an actual building, with the aim of combining innovation, efficiency and high-quality construction.
This technology enables us to reduce waste, optimise the use of resources and rethink the construction process in a more efficient way.

As Riccardo Garrè pointed out: “The issue is not just what materials we build with, but how we use them. The real challenge is cultural: innovating materials means innovating the way we build the future. But it is equally essential to work in partnership with institutions, creating the optimal conditions to enable a truly effective and successful transition.”
