Impresa Pizzarotti at the “Futuro Direzione Nord” conference
Yesterday, as part of the 28th edition of Futuro Direzione Nord, entitled “Prospects in the Balance”, discussions focused on the major transformations that are reshaping the country’s future: energy, transport, construction, data centres and urban regeneration.
During the panel discussion “Building the future between Infrastructure 5.0 and the construction industry”, Riccardo Garrè, CEO of Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., made a clear point: sustainability in construction can no longer be regarded as a secondary or reputational issue, but as a genuine industrial and competitive factor. Today, construction and demolition waste accounts for around 51% of the special waste produced in Italy: a figure that highlights just how central materials management is to the sector’s future.
For this reason, at Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., innovation means:
• investing in the traceability of materials and recycling streams throughout the supply chain;
• developing certified solutions with a low environmental impact;
• promoting circular economy models, transforming waste into new resources;
• accelerating the industrialisation of the sector through innovative technologies such as 3D Construction Printing;
• making construction sites increasingly safe through the use of smart systems and artificial intelligence.
Among the projects mentioned is CASA-Ecoconcrete, an initiative dedicated to the development of new sustainable concretes produced using recycled materials sourced from local supply chains.
“Innovating with materials means changing the very way we build: not just making better choices, but using less, reusing more and designing for the entire life cycle of the material.”
