The launching of the metal deck of the Mincio viaduct at the Peschiera del Garda construction site was completed, bringing the progress of the works on the High Speed/High Capacity (HS/AC) Brescia Est – Verona line to approximately 67%.

The construction of the HS/HC Brescia East – Verona section is among the works financed by the PNRR and is one of the pieces of the Mediterranean Core Corridor that will connect ports in the south of the Iberian Peninsula with Eastern Europe, passing through southern France, northern Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.

The work of the Cepav due Consortium, made up of Saipem, Impresa Pizzarotti and Gruppo ICM, continues, commissioned by the Italian Railway Network with high supervision and works management by Italferr, both companies belonging to the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group.

The complex push launch of the metal deck of the Mincio viaduct was carried out in various phases during the current year and was successfully completed on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 June.

The Mincio viaduct, approximately 320 meters long, is made up of 8 spans, 2 abutments and 7 piers, 2 of which are of particular importance as they are on the edge of the riverbed.

In close parallel to the existing motorway one, the viaduct, in addition to crossing the river of the same name, passes over the Mincio cycle path, the Regional Road 249 and the motorway ramps of the Peschiera del Garda junction.

The works on the railway viaduct will be completed in the next few months with the launching of the prefabricated beams, the creation of the concrete slabs, the installation of the railway superstructure and the technological installations.
