In recent days, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the ITT ‘Marie Curie’ technical institute in Ponticelli, specialising in environmental biotechnology and materials chemistry, to the Cuma wastewater treatment plant.

During the morning, the team of engineers from Pizzarotti-Suez management illustrated the peculiarities of a biological wastewater treatment plant through a dedicated presentation, then accompanied the students on a field visit, allowing them to observe the different sections of the plant up close and understand how it works.

Following the initiative, we received a letter of thanks from the teaching staff that particularly impressed us. Among the most significant passages: “The clarity and simplicity of the arguments used to convey complex concepts, such as the management of a biological wastewater treatment plant, were greatly appreciated”’ wrote Prof. Aldo Cecere, a teacher at the institute.
A significant element of the entire experience was the awareness gained by the students, who were able to internalise the journey taken by a “drop of water” from the city to the sea.”

These words confirm the value of dialogue between schools and businesses and the importance of opening our plants to the younger generation.
