Guadeloupe University Hospital: initial activities have begun
Last week, the Guadeloupe University Hospital Centre (CHU) took a decisive step towards becoming operational.
With the launch of the first diagnostic radiology services at the Belle-Plaine site, the facility welcomed its first patients for MRI scans. A gradual increase in activity is expected over the coming weeks.
This is a historic milestone for Guadeloupe’s healthcare system: not only the launch of new clinical services, but a step marking the start of a profound transformation of the archipelago’s healthcare provision.
The University Hospital Centre, with its 85,000 m², 558 beds (expandable to 595 in an emergency), 18 operating theatres and state-of-the-art technological equipment, represents the largest hospital project ever undertaken in the Caribbean.
