The new building will be one of four hubs in the south-east Florence area whose services will be located in a single site in Via Aretina, has been inaugurated.

The south-east Florentine area will be one of the facilities of the new DM 77 socio-health system.

The building, which will be built on two floors (in addition to a basement dedicated to parking), 1000 square metres per floor, will be integrated in a system of Spoke Community Houses, those in the municipalities of Greve, San Casciano, Incisa and Rignano and in direct connection to the Hubs (in the south-east Florentine area also in Figline, Reggello and Impruneta).

The centrally located Casa della Comunità is located in the former Borgo Verde railway area, from which it will take its name, a strategic area along the Via Aretina, destined for interventions that will change the face of the town over the next few years.

Inaugurating the start of work and the initial completion of the building site alongside representatives of Impresa Pizzarotti and other local and regional authorities was the President of the Region of Tuscany, Eugenio Giani, accompanied by the General Director of the Asl Toscana centro.

“With this intervention for the construction of the Community House in Pontassieve,’ explained President Eugenio Giani, ‘we are adding another fundamental piece to the integrated social and health system of the Region of Tuscany. An infrastructure that not only concretely meets the needs of the Pontassieve population, but also integrates organically with the services of Pelago and Rufina, strengthening the entire territory. But this intervention goes beyond just healthcare: an urban area is being regenerated, a new public attraction is being created with parking and services that will bring new life to the neighbourhood.”
