In fact, during the night of 6-7 April, the first section of track of the Frasso Telesino-Telese lot (phase 1.1.2: Frasso-Amorosi connection from 143+839 to 142+302) for the HS/HC Napoli-Bari railway line was activated.

The new section of track, which is approximately 1,500 metres long – 800 metres of which represent the new even-numbered track of the project – will make it possible to move the railway operation and, consequently, to demolish the Historical Line currently in operation, in order to continue with the construction of the new odd-numbered track of the project.

The connection work, in particular on the railway equipment, electric traction and signalling systems, took place during the 48-hour interruption of railway operations, which ended at midnight today with the reactivation of the line and the passage of the first train.

This activation represents a first important result, the result of the work carried out in synergy by the Contractor (Impresa Pizzarotti – lead contractor – , Itinera, Ghella, Salcef and EDS Infrastrutture S.p.A.), Works Management (Italferr) and the Customer (RFI), who with commitment and organisation have made it possible to achieve this planned objective, in view of the further challenging tasks that await.
