Cortina Sliding Centre and sustainability
In addition to cutting-edge refrigeration technology, the design of the Cortina Sliding Center embraces sustainability-focused solutions, with particular attention to energy efficiency, resource management, and internal mobility.
The building’s roof will be green, made with lightweight, draining materials that help with thermal insulation, rainwater retention, and the enhancement of the surrounding environment.
Energy is not only consumed, but also recovered: the heat generated by the refrigeration plant will be reused to heat the Sliding Centre’s buildings, thanks to a system that saves up to 60 tons of CO₂ per year compared to traditional systems.
Sustainability is also reflected in internal mobility solutions, which include the use of hybrid vehicles, and in stormwater management, with a drainage network designed to prevent dispersion and overloads.
The Cortina Sliding Centre is conceived as an efficient, long-lasting infrastructure, fully integrated into its environment and built to serve its purpose well into the future.
