On 15 September 2025, the CFT Consortium, led by Impresa Pizzarotti & C., launched the numerous activities necessary for the activation of the Cancello-Frasso Telesino even track, which will enable the achievement of a fundamental milestone for the national territory.

With the passage of the Regional 21209 Naples-Benevento train, silence fell on the tracks of the historic line that crosses the heart of Caserta, climbing towards Maddaloni Superiore to pass through the historic and imposing Carolino aqueduct and, via Valle di Maddaloni, flow into the Frasso-Dugenta station.

A single-track railway line approximately 20 km long, serving the area since March 1868, was decommissioned on 15 September 2025 to make way for the new double-track Cancello-Frasso Telesino line.

It has been necessary to interrupt the active RM-NA line on the Cancello-Caserta section and the historic CA-FG line on the Caserta-Benevento section for 13 consecutive days to allow for the completion of numerous activities, such as:

• 2 connections (even and odd tracks) between the new line and the active line in Caserta;

• 2 connections (even and odd tracks) between the new line and the active line in Cancello;

• 1 connection (even track) between the new line and the active line in Frasso-Telesino;

• Decommissioning of the historic line for approximately 20 km, including tracks, contact line and 13 level crossings in the municipalities of Caserta, Maddaloni, Valle di Maddaloni and Dugenta.
