Brienz landslide drainage gallery (GR)
Excavation and securing of the drainage tunnel under the Brienz (GR) landslide continues. The advance, currently in disturbed zone, is about 450 m from the access tunnel already completed in the previous batch. Boreholes for water drainage holes are also being drilled at the niches.
The job order, awarded to the ARGE Piz Linard consortium composed of Pizzarotti SA, Matteo Muttoni Costruzioni SA and Edilmac Srl, concerns the excavation of a tunnel with a length of 1’926 m, section 4.14 m x 4.81 m and longitudinal slope between 2 and 12 percent.
The excavation is protected by anchors, reinforcing mesh, shotcrete with and without steel fibers, and partly with steel ribs. The shotcrete vault has no waterproofing. From the 20 niches and the tunnel, several drainage holes are provided.
Client: Municipality of Albula/Alvra – Graubünden Technical Office.
