AV Napoli–Bari: the Cancello-Frasso–Dugenta section unveiled at the Royal Palace of Caserta
Yesterday, 17 March, against the stunning backdrop of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Cancello – Frasso Telesino – Dugenta section of the Naples-Bari high-speed/high-capacity line was unveiled. Already operational, it forms an integral part of one of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects, which today represents far more than a technical milestone. t embodies a vision, a shared commitment. It illustrates what it means to create value, every day.
It is not just about tracks, but about opportunities:
- reduced journey times
- greater accessibility for inland regions and areas
- a tangible boost to employment and sustainable development
As Tullio Ferrante, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport with responsibility for the functional coordination of commissioned works, emphasised,“The new Naples-Bari high-speed/high-capacity line is the cornerstone of the national strategy for investment in the South. The aim is to transform high-speed rail into an engine of growth, reducing disparities and journey times to boost local economies. This is a fundamental project, set to revolutionise transport links, which will improve accessibility to strategic areas of Southern Italy, creating jobs and sustainable development”.
The project, realised thanks to the commitment and dedication of Impresa Pizzarotti, parent company of the CFT Consortium (together with Itinera and Ghella), is a concrete example of industrial synergy, engineering innovation, commitment to environmental sustainability and how collaboration can translate into real value for the country.
As Francesco Aguglia, General Manager of Domestic Operations at Pizzarotti and Chairman of the CFT Consortium, emphasised, “This section represents a fundamental building block in Italy’s infrastructure landscape and demonstrates the value of a supply chain capable of working in synergy to deliver complex and strategic projects for the country.”
During the dialogue between institutions and the industrial sector, a clear message emerged: modern infrastructure means more competitive, inclusive and attractive regions.
The Naples-Bari high-speed/high-capacity line will not only connect two major cities, Naples and Bari, but will become an enabling infrastructure for the entire South, also facilitating the shift of freight traffic from road to rail.
Against a backdrop of unprecedented infrastructure investment, this launch is a concrete sign of a new era of development, collaboration and vision. It is a catalyst for opportunities, a bridge between regions, and an engine of growth that will contribute to a more modern, better-connected and more competitive Italy.
There are infrastructures that connect places. And then there are those that create the future.
