AV Florence: inspection by the President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani
Florence: inspection by the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, accompanied by the CEO of Impresa Pizzarotti, Riccardo Garrè, and representatives of RFI at the construction site of the new high-speed railway station, a key project in the high-speed rail network of the Tuscan capital, where work is continuing at full speed.
With the Marika TBM having already travelled about 2.5 km and set to arrive at the future Belfiore station in early 2026, Florence and Tuscany are preparing for a change of face.
Faster travel between Rome and Milan, more regular regional trains travelling above ground and a major urban redevelopment project for the entire area.
These are just some of the undoubted advantages that this project will bring in terms of modernity and sustainability.
While waiting for the Iris TBM to finish its journey, Florence, a city of technology, innovation, railways and public transport, is gradually achieving its objectives, which should see the final milestone reached in 2028.
