The section from Treviglio to Brescia is 39 km long; the project approved by the CIPE (Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning) involves the construction of a new section complying with the High Speed and High Capacity standards. The new section branches off from the entrance to the future Treviglio West interconnection to run alongside the future Brescia-Treviglio-Milan motorway as far as Castrezzato. From there, on completion of the railway line as far as Verona, the Brescia West interconnection will branch off with the old track. This interconnection will run alongside the Milan-Venice near Ospitaletto arriving at the station in Brescia: it will then serve the high speed trains running between there and Milan junction.
