Civil construction (residential, commercial, business centre, productive, hospitals) represents an important operational activity for the Pizzarotti group and is a constant investment opportunity.
The aim of this sector is to provide assurance for the Client of maximum satisfaction of purchase by means of quality guarantee and time limit respect of execution.
Years of production success show the level of excellence reached in this field, both on a local and international level.
Examples of this excellence are the Tuscan Hospitals (project financing structures for the local health authorities of Prato, Lucca, Massa and Pistoia), the cadet academy of the finance police in Bari (construction of a school and training structure , together with logistic and services support structures), and the construction of the Camp Ederle American Military Base in Vicenza (health centre and accommodation).
Moving on to significant accomplishments in the realms of major projects, such as the construction of hydroelectric power stations, the Pizzarotti Group today is committed to the energy sector, and in particular the area of renewable sources, with the construction, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic installations. Among them the 13.2 MW solar park located in the municipalities of Augusta and Melilli in the province of Siracusa stands out. It was built in 2010 and located on top of the artificial tunnel of the Catania-Siracusa motorway.
The energy sector is being actively addressed right across the Pizzarotti Group, and particularly in partnership with the residential building sector, in order to implement initiatives for energy savings, rational usage of renewable sources and environmental sustainability, during both the works’ planning and the construction phases.
Starting from the 1970s, alongside the general construction sector, a specialist division was set up dedicated to industrialisation of the construction sector, with the opening of the first industrial plant in the province of Parma and, about a decade later, another in the province of Arezzo. In 1984 a third industrial plant was completed in the province of Potenza.
These three manufacturing units enable the Prefabrications division of Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A. to satisfy the demands of the national market, achieving the position of market leader in Italy in terms of production volume in the heavy prefabrication sector.
